Airlines

Taxis are available and provide transportation services island wide. Many of the taxi companies are independently owned and operated; fleet size ranges from 1 to 5 taxis. Taxis are available at Nantucket Memorial Airport, Straight Wharf, and Steamboat Wharf. Taxi stands are located at Lower Main Street/South Water Street and Main Street/Washington Street. Some taxi companies provide reservation services. Taxi operators are not authorized to conduct tours.

IN-TOWN FARE: $7.00 for one (1) passenger. $4.00 for Senior Citizens (65 and older)

AIRPORT ZONE: $12.00 for one (1) passenger, or to leave airport line.

OUTSIDE TOWN/AIRPORT ZONE: Shall be the fare from either the point of origin of the fare or the destination point of fare, whichever is greater.

CROSS-ISLAND FARES: Wauwinet/Siasconset $27.00, Madaket/Siasconset $39.00, Wauwinet/Madaket $41.00.

BAGGAGE: two (2) bags per person are included in the above fares; an additional charge of $.50 per bag in excess of two (2).

DOGS: $2.00 each BICYCLES: $2.00 each DIRT ROAD CHARGE: $3.00 (Driver's Discretion)

WAITING TIME: a waiting time may be charged at the rate of $45.00 per hour or $.75 per minute of actual waiting time, beginning three (3) minutes after notice of the arrival of the taxicab.

AFTER 1:00 AM THROUGH 3:00 AM: add $2.00 to the In-Town or $4.00 to all other fares.

AFTER 3:00 AM THROUGH 5:00 AM: add $5.00 to all taxi fares.

These fares are for one (1) passenger only; additional passenger(s) are charged $1.00 each.
